The “Balletto di Verona” returns to the stage on Saturday 23 November at 8.30 pm and Sunday 24 November at 4.30 pm at the Teatro Ristori in Verona and
December 1st at the Teatro Corso in Mestre with “The Nutcracker”, a classical repertoire ballet in two acts with music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, with choreography by artistic directors Eriberto Verardi and Anna Guetsman based on Petipa and Ivanov. The Nutcracker is one of the masterpieces of classical dance and represents the famous trilogy together with the two works considered icons of dance, “Swan Lake” and “Sleeping Beauty”, both written by the great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and choreographed by the French Maestro Marius Petipa. The ballet inspired by the story by Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann tells of a young girl (Clara) who receives a Nutcracker in the form of a toy soldier as a Christmas gift and when she falls asleep she dreams of him transforming into a beautiful young man who defends her from imaginary fights between mice and soldiers, becoming her hero. He will guide her into a fantasy world, into the kingdom of sweets where there will be a series of dances that make up the famous Divertissement of the second act. Ballet suitable for the whole family, it will be interpreted and danced by the students of the professional training center Balletto di Verona.
